Week five is when a puppy is exposed to new faces other than their mum and littermates. At this age, puppies appear more playful and curious by the day. They are exploring the world around them and learning how to interact with others. Socialisation is all about learning how to interact with other dogs and humans and the puppies are just beginning this process. Since their eyesight is now well-developed, they are fully aware of their surroundings and eager to take their place in the big, busy world.
This is also when, puppies learn the important lesson of "bite inhibition" and the difference between fighting and play biting. This lesson teaches a puppy the appropriate limits of play in their future interactions with others.
By this time the puppies can now really enjoy running and playing. They will most likely be very noisy, developing their bark playing with other puppies
